Set in the London Borough of Haringey, Wood Green one of the ten metropolitan centres mentioned in the London Plan. Wood Green was originally part of Tottenham and was known as Tottenham Wood Green, although this changed in 1894 when Wood Green was defined as its own urban district.
Wood Green is a great location for both visitors and locals as it boasts one of the largest shopping centres close to a tube line! It also has two cinemas and enough bars and restaurants to tempt just about anyone.
Over the years, Wood Green has become a popular place for families and now has no fewer than 9 primary schools and 4 secondary schools. Wood Green is also home to the famous Alexandra Palace (or “ally pally” as it is often called).
