We've been buying takeaway and the occasional sit-down meal here for years. Tomi's Kitchen offers consistently great value, great taste & friendly, easy-going staff.
Most other Nigerian restaurants are over-priced. This place is great value & decent portions.
The hot sauce is truly addictive.

Having walked past Tomi's on my daily commute for some time I entered Tomi's filled with the inspiration of the smell pouring out daily.
I ordered the beef Adalu which, unfortunately, failed to impress. It was extremely dry and void of flavour. On the other hand the spicy bean mix was a joy to behold and the plantain was definitely the best I have tasted in my time in Deptford.
Our starter of chin chin tasted merely of the oil it was cooked in but the beer was cold and pokey- just the way I like it.
I would like to stress we went quite late and so this probably wasn't the best time

If you just want a quick African meal, Tomi's Kitchen is just good enough. Food is reasonably delicious, fresh and cheap. The food bar presents a good variety. You can get Star, Gulder, Nigerian Guinness and Palmwine. Don't expect any courtesies from the service girls though. That's not part of the deal.
It is your fault, you are hungry and are there to eat, full stop.
I was surprised when the service girl brought a bottle of beer and dumped it in my front with an opener and walked away!...even when she saw I was already tucked into my amala and egusi with one hand. Nothing has changed...this is an African buka...come eat and go! If you need some proper treatment, there are other choices on Deptford High Street...try the Broadway Restaurant instead.

I have visited Tomi's Kitchen several times since 2001. I have even travelled from Cambridge where I lived all the way to Tomi's kitchen in Deptford just for the food.
I love the spicy stew. Recently about 2 months ago I again went there from Hampshire where I live although I was in london for some other business. The Restaurant in Deptford has been renovated and is very clean and has very friendly and tidy staff who are courteous and pleasant.
I notice they have another Restaurant now and am happy for their expansion. Keep up the good work.
