Nubian Taste

One suspects that the owner's friends have contributed a couple of these glowing reviews. This restaurant is really terrible. The decor is cheap, cold and nasty with cheap white plastic tablecloths (ye gads!) the service was bad - slow and sullen, the food was terrible and way overpriced: more gristle and bone on the goat curry than meat, and very obviously microwaved, the plantain was tough and also seemed microwaved, and the white wine was luke warm and waitress. The restaurant was empty on a Friday night between 7 and 10 pm apart from a few take-away customers. The only reason I stayed was because my companion had booked it and I didn't want to offend. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Don't go near the place.

I have been to Nubian Taste on many occasions, and have to admit that the food is good 99% of the time. I have sat down for lunch and dinner and even have take away. The staff are extremely polite and the manager/owner is very accommodating.

I went there on Valentines Day and pre-ordered 4 lobsters amongst other things and yes the wait was long, but the meal was satisfactory-. Even though the staff were under pressure, they still remained professional.


I would and do go back all the time!!

I phoned up for a takeaway at this restaurant and had ordered a Jerk Pork meal which includes rice. A family member had collected the meal and when they arrived home, I discovered that Nubian Taste had only provided the Jerk Pork without the rice. I phoned up and spoke to the lady who took the order and who also admitted it was her mistake, only to be told that after speaking to her manager I would have to pay for the rice but they will deduct a £1 off the price! Any other restaurant would have given the rice free being that it was their mistake. I will never be ordering a takeaway from this place again, nor will I be going to eat at this restaurant if that is the way they treat their customers. The Jerk pork by the way was more bones than meat.

I was at the restaurant on that day and basically the ambiance and the food was great. This restaurant is a top of the line of the line restaurant and i would recommend everyone to go there.

I was extremely disapointed with this resturant. We arrived a few minutes late to our advanced reservation to find they had not set the table. We were a party of 4, we pre-ordered 2 lobster 2 course meals I ordered ackee and saltfish which came with white rice and 5 pieces of plaintain (£2) and we waitied 1 hour 40 mins, only for my food to arrive cold. The manager was not interested in our concerns and discounted our food bill of £98 to £90. It was paid with much regret. This is just a snipet of my complaint. I would not return and I would not recommend this dump... Oh, the ladies toilets were broken so had to use the mens which was disgustingly smelly and dirty.
