New Era restaurant just renamed themselves Chilli & Creamy. It was a horrible experience. It claims to be under new ownership with a new chef. The interior is redone to an expectable ambience. We ordered Pad Thai, which was nothing, like a Thai version. They used Chinese chow mein noodles instead. The sophisticated Thai sense of sweetness and peanuts was completely missing – simply hot mushy noodles. I ordered green curry with rice. This turned out to be more like sweet and sour pork with a bit of cream and starch. A rather poor taste. The rice was so soft one could scoop it like a pudding. As a started we had a Tom Yam soup. I cant even start to describe what we received – strips of tofu with dark mushrooms in a sugar broth. When we ordered the bill we were overcharged. This can happen but considering we returned all the food with out eating it seamed strange that they did not even consider to offer us discount. Overall a very disappointing experience. I cannot remember the last time having to try such poor food. Shame on them!

The food here is very good, expertly cooked and inexpensive. They do a fantastic range of traditional Chinese cuisine - the Noodle soup range is my favourite - with extra chilli oil. A good proportion of the clientèle are Chinese which bodes well for the diner. Staff are friendly and helpful. A great little find.
