Hungs Restaurant

was amazed to read of poor ratings for this restaurant. I and my 2 friends are regulars! The food is top class restaurant style, has a full menu as well as a buffet option, staff are friendly if their english isn't perfect, it's good enough to make an order. My favourites are sticky aubergines in ginger and black bean sauce, the crispy duck pancakes which actually come with the buffet even though they're a delicacy, the won ton soup and toffee banana fritters are superb, everything that's battered or crumbed is fresh and crispy and all the sliced pork, beef and black bean dishes are tasty and not watery like so many buffets. However, the extensive range of food on the menu includes some exotic dishes and i would advise you spend half your trips ordering direct from the menu. We have tried other chinese buffets in streatham and none of the others are as good quality, they dont have the range or expensive things like duck availabe, it's definitely head and shoulders above the others. I don't understnad the decor comment either. The resturant has tasteful tablecloths and chinese decorations - i have a feeling these people might be talking about another restuarant!

Excellent food! The food comes quickly and is rich tasting not to mention authentic. If you are looking for somewhere to go after clubbing or after a trip to the theatre this is the perfect place as it is open until the early hours of the morning, I was extremely pleased with the quality of the food given that the restaurant may not have refined decor. Brilliant!
