Porters English Restaurant

I had a meal at Porters on Tuesday and I'd just to like to say a big thank you for the whole experience. I had the game pie with mashed potato followed by the spotted****which were wonderful. The waitress who looked after my brother and myself was very polite and very helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very relaxing and conducive to the enjoyment of the meal. We had a wonderful time and I hope to visit again.

I would urge anyone who is tempted to eat at this restaurant to go elsewhere instead. Against my better judgement I ate here on the 11th December 2005 and was served food which would have made a school dinner lady weep, the service was uninterested and late, the atmosphere was similar to that which I would expect in a run down hospital canteen and the experience overall was as disappointing as anything I have experienced. It is tempting to think that it can't be that bad since it is in Covent Garden and looks from the outside a bit like a decent restaurant might look, but this is misleading, it is awful and I would urge you to look for somewhere else if you are considering booking a table
