We had arrived in London`s Kensington district barely half an hour earlier, and were checking out a likely Restaurant for our evening meal. We knew of Ollins from this web site and were quickly able to locate it, in a most delightful setting, flanked either side of the road by trees in spring blossom.
It was closed and at that instance the proprietor arrived to unlock the door. In response to our enquiry, he quickly offered us a copy of his current menu, which impressed immediately!
We did book, later by `phone, and enjoyed one of the best dining experiences ever.
Terrific food , service and ambience awaits at Ollins. Don`t delay! And you too can take away with you the same experience and excellent memories of a meal out in one of London`s finest restaurants.

A really great discovery, this. We dropped in out of the blue for a glass or two of wine, one evening, and were so charmed and delighted with the service, ambience, wine, and so on that we came back the next day for an afternoon pot of tea and stickies. We've since been back for a special dinner, and loved the bread and olives, the generous starters, the really good lobster thermidor and lamb cutlets, and awonderful apricot bread-and-butter pudding, with lovely ice-creams. An excellent sancerre and good cofee accompanied it.

There seems to be only two front-of-house staff, one the owner. They are traditional in many ways, but you may not find two such individualists waiting on your table for many miles and years. It just adds to the atmosphere. speaking of which...

...The place looks and feels a lot like a little Paris cafe, up a quiet side street in the Marin district. But it doesn't strain to try and do so; the decor is deliberately and casually old-fashioned in its approach but spotless and stylish. This is topped off by some eclectic music; jazzy, soft and just right. there are just a few tables -- it can probably get very crowded at times. But there are tables outside for good weather, and the view from the single window is pleasing.

We have enjoyed every occasion we've come to Ollin's on our visits to London, and we'll be back again, without a doubt.
