Le Bouchon Lyonnais is an authentic French restaurant, brasserie and bar. Two separate rooms allows one the choice of either drinking and eating in a Tabac style atmosphere, eating from a brasserie style menu, or partaking of haute cuisine in smarter surroundings. Service is friendly and staff are French. Good choice of French beers, ciders and wine. Outdoor seating available, and a TV is available for viewing larger sporting events. Catering for private parties of up to 75 guests is available upon request.

This restaurant is not suitable for non-smokers; ventilation is poor and there is no no-smoking zone. Unfortunately, despite the promising menu, we had to leave with our drinks on the tableas the atmosphere was so poisonous. The staff seemed to understand and we were just charged for our drinks.

Rather a shame.

The food is as one would expect, quite good and inexpensive. This restaurant has been in the Queenstown Road for a very long time and I have used it many times over the years, however, as is often the case with long established restaurants, they get lazy and complacent and this is no exception. The food seems to have maintained the same sort of quality throughout, which is an achievment in itself however the service has certainly gone down hill. The last two times I have been (today and a month ago) I had different waiters and both were unhelpful, arrogant and unfriendly. What is more my guest had his wallet stolen. I wont be going back for a long time if ever.
