Extremely rude manger. No manner whatsoever. Went with family requested for takeaway lassi and he gave me a face answered so rudely -‘We don’t do lassi we do food!’ Didn’t even wait for me reply after the answer. I felt so disrespected. Avoid this restaurant if you don’t wish to ruin your evening.

I just would like to say that this is one of the best Indian Cuisines in London. The staff is so polite and well spoken. It never fails to impress and the best thing in the restaurant is the live kitchen. Food is so consistent and really amazing. Would like to recommend to everyone. Thanks Caraway..

I went into Caraway today at 5:30pm to order a takeaway only to be turned away as they had to clean up from a private party. The waiter told me to come back one hour later. When I called the restaurant at half six to get my order ready, I was met by a rude girl on the phone. When I asked her if they were ready to serve food as I had been turned down before, the impolite girl named Shauna said in an aggressive, sarcastic tone:'ERRR HEllO? We were busy from clearing up after a private party!’ I told her not to take that tone with me and put the phone down. Living five minutes away from Caraway I decided to visit the place to see what the manager had to say about this, only to be met by one of the rudest, arrogant managers I have ever met in my life. I told him what happened and how disappointed I was with regards to the rude girl on the phone, considering I was a regular customer. This is what he had to say about the situation: " So what? All our customers are regular. The waiters told you what the situation was. Shauna has good customer service, I stand next to her sometimes and knows how good she is.She would never do that'. When I told him she was not with me he said it was 'time to call it an evening' and showed me the door. Caraway is bad business guys. DO NOT GO THERE AS THEY DO NOT VALUE YOU AS A CUSTOMER -TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HORRENDOUS MANAGER.

I have read mixed reviews about this restaurant spanning several years and I must give my extreme disdain towards this place based on my first visit in March 2012.
I attended 'The Caraway' restaurant on Mother's Day just last weekend and I must say I was left in disbelief. The restaurant should have been boycotted ages ago. These are the reasons:

The waiter that was supposedly 'allocated' to us was intolerable. when we arrived drinks took about 10-15 minutes to arrive after ordering. Our waiter then decided to take ONE starter order and then leave. 25 minutes later he came back to receive the full order for starters from our group of 9, which came within 35 minutes. The waiter was uninterested and lazy on the whole.
When our main orders were taken the waiter did not bother to clarify everything that was ordered by the whole group, and just left.
When the main meals arrived (about an hour later) everyone else received the food they wanted except for me (I requested a vegetable biriyani and I can clearly remember him writing this down). Our group had to enquire where my meal had 'disappeared to' whilst everyone else was tucking in. They insisted it was coming although it was most obviously forgotten as I didn't receive my meal till about 30-40 minutes after the rest of my table had received their food.
The service was disgusting...I asked for carrots to be removed from my biriyani but was told that the restaurant was too busy to adhere to the request. My family requested to speak to the manager due to such poor food service and customer service but this was refused by the waiter. I was always given the excuse 'we're too busy' which is a poor excuse for any aspiring restaurant, as they clearly cant handle the pressure.
I even tried to make small talk and even tried to engage in light humour with the waiter who was oblivious to this and demonstrated poor tact and sensibility.

I urge anyone to avoid this restaurant as NOBODY deserves to be treat

I went Caraway with my family for a evening meal,I was not well I ordered warm water but kept getting cold water. Service is very poor, they cant handle been busy as they have many workers in the restaurant. The food has a poor standard, also the manager is rude doesn't care about his customers all. All I wanted is to have nice evening meal with my family but couldn't because of the poor service they should be out of business, customers are always right. I don't even think the people working there even understand English. I don't recommend any one going to Caraway, also I would recommend going other restaurants near by which are Curry special, kanchans.Very disappointed with Caraway please don't visit Caraway.

I used to regularly visit this restaurant, it was fantastic.

But now the food has gone downhill, it takes too long and doesn't taste as nice.

They are cutting corners.

Service has gone downhill, the manager advised he will give me a discount on my bill, then at the end said no next time have a discount. I re-booked a table to be told fully booked. My friend booked and got a table, when I went there it was virtually empty. I spoke to the manager where he said I would be barred from the restaurant for life.

I left, why was I barred, because I found out the service and food was poor and I am a regular!

Its not just me, but many other people are now saying the same thing. So its a matter of time before it closes or hopefully changes hands. Its not Indian food either.

Terrible food. I asked for medium to hot, but all dishes came very mild and tasteless. I ordered a lamb dish and the lamb was fatty. Really horrible. We won't go back there.

the place is lovely but i must say the tables are very close together. Food was good apart from the last dish i had. When i complained the manager worked out how much of the dish i had eaten and then took this amount off the bill!

I had heard good reviews so was excited to go there to celebrate my brothers birthday, from the minute we arrived at the restaurant the poor service started. We were left waiting at the door for over five minutes and finally when we were sitted no one bothered to take our drinks order. During the whole evening we had to keep on asking for everything, something's repeatedly.

To top it off the food was not great too, we had to send back the palak panner as it was so bland.

The atmosphere was great, but the poor service and food let it down.

Will def not be going back.

I went there the other day, and the food was absolutely perfect! The mongolian chicken was second to none, the chicken tika was out of this world. The staff were very helpful and kind, and i was treated to impeccable service by the main man, Parmjit Johal. The best indian restaurant in the world, a must for anyone wanng to experience the fine dining of the east.
