Star Of India
Indian Restaurant in Cheam
We are local to the area and tried it for the first time on a Friday night. It was very busy and the service was very slow (had to wait an hour for our food). We also had to remind them more than once about drinks orders and we had the mysterious two glasses of wine on the bill which we never had.
Summary - good food, slow service and check the bill carefully
I have been a customer of this restaurant since a year or so after it opened in 1970!
It must be one of the longest established and most successful in the South East.
I have always had great fun, Michael the owner and now his son Jay give everyone a good time and fantastic food time in a relaxed atmosphere.
Still remember having 2 meals there with a load of chums one christmas eve in 1975 ish! One at 8.00 and the other at 1.00 in the morning after a skin full!
