I ordered veg Somoza joy special rice and Tarka Dahl Biryani Chicken Tikka. The food tasted fresh and well seasoned. It was a takeaway order and they delivered on time.
The food was steaming hot.
No complaints here. It was much tastier then another famous place in Whitechapel.

All In London Review
Warm and welcoming and home to one of the hottest curries you could ever eat!
Not the most stylish looking restaurant you’ll ever see – the atmosphere seems to be provided by dimmed lights – but what it lacks for in aesthetics it makes up for in other ways. It’s friendly for a start. Broadway Market is a destination now but Joy still retains the charm of good service, just these days it is full more often than not with its space to accommodate large groups.
Joy serves traditional Indian cuisine. We can recommend the lamb Korai, sag panir and chicken roshuni wholeheartedly. However, as is often the case with spicy foods, the taste of dishes at Joy meld into each other quickly so we would advise you pick sparingly. And if you’re a fan of spice, we would dare you to attempt Joy’s house fal, the spiciest dish on the menu – ridiculous! Dishes are reasonably priced at around £6.00 and the restaurant is licensed to serve alcohol.
Joy is not home to premium Indian food but if you’re forgoing sitting in with a curry in favour of heading out then this beats the overkill of somewhere like Brick Lane. Friendly and relaxed, it may not be a destination but Joy has enough to satisfy the locals.
