Ghandi has a superlative reputation both with the restaurants critics and various Westminster big-wigs (Kenneth Clarke, Geoff Hoon, etc) who live nearby. It deserves this reputation.

It stands out from the normal Indian restaurants for its excellent, fresh cooking, its high level of presentation and also service. True it is often busy, at which times service can somtimes be stretched to keep things quite as friendly. But there's no faulting its fine cooking - even if all the locals and critics were wrong, I've been there numerous times, and it is always exceptional.

Three cheers to the Ghandi!

We went there on a special occasion but it was spoilt as the staff had a bad attitude and did not care. We had ask them to change the dishes a few times. Not going there anymore.

The food is magnificant at Ghandhi's (10/10) but the attitude of the staff was amazingly rude (0/10). I was turned away because I was eating alone, although there were 6 or 7 empty tables. Amazingly a friendly tourist offered me a seat at his table which I accepted and then duly noted that no other customers came in to fill the empty tables.

Most of the dishes we had were good - especially the Lamb Jalfrezi

However the night was spoilt by the attitude of the manager - we queried why the Chicken Dansak was as sweet as it was and all we got was a very negative attitude from the manager.

He showed zero interest in our enjoyment of the experience at the restaurant and was quite rude in fact.

We shall not be returning, which is a shame because apart from that one dish the food was nice.

I cannot recommend this restaurant purely on service, or lack thereof
