Now and again you'll chance upon a cracker of a restaurant. In offering that holy trinity rarely found in Indian restaurants - excellent service, delicious dishes and a good atmosphere - ERIKI's one of them. You'll find it in swanky Swiss Cottage, close to the tree-lined neighbourhoods of Hampstead and St John's Wood. Spicy by nature and by look, ERIKI's decor is a sophisticated fusion of traditional imported Indian furniture and contemporary western finishes aka brightly coloured walls and gleaming white plates. Above all else, what marks this Indian out is the food. An impressive range of skillfully prepared dishes means that vegetarians and non-vegetarians are spoilt for choice. If you're after signature dishes, opt for murgh xacuti, a rich chicken curry with individually roasted ground spices from Goa, koh e rogan josh - a classic kashmiri lamb curry, or from the a la carte menu, sea fresh sea bass fillets marinated with peri peri spices and served in a sizzling hot masala sauce. You could even go the whole hog and try a special Indian cocktail.

Stumbled upon this restaurant on a visit to the nearby cinema with no booking on what appeared to be a fairly busy Saturday evening. Staff were efficient, decor was stylish but cosy and the food was great. Yes it is pricey but I imagine there are big overheads to be paid for such a position on a busy London road. Looking forward to eating here again on our next cinema outing and will probably book next time to avoid disappointment. A real treat.

Wonderful evening at Eriki on Finchley Road. Our second visit to Eriki and will continue. Busy night as we walked in. Attentive service, delicious food.

Eriki once again was wonderful. The starters are great, and the Murgh main I had, as a change from my normal Xacuti, was perfect, spiced up to exactly the level I like! I love Eriki and will keep going back.

Eriki on the Finchley Road was recommended to me by a friend. We had a lovely table, the decor was very stylish, the service impeccable throughout and the food absolutely delicious. Everything was very fresh and made from scratch and this showed in the wonderful flavours of the food - a spicy Malvani Hara Prawn Curry complemented by a Vegetable Biriyani which came with a cucumber raita - perfect. As it was my sons birthday Eriki surprised me with a candle in some ice cream which was very thoughtful!

I thought the food in this place was ok but overpriced, it's not the best I've been to and certainly not the cheapest. The drinks were also overpriced. There are better Indian restaurants in the area if you're prepared to walk try Meghna Grill on Boundary Road, or the Thai restaurant (Bhan Thai) down there is also excellent. They're a bit out of the way but better food and value.
