This Indian grill restaurant is run by the same company as Chutney Mary and the Masala Zone chain. Amaya in Knightsbridge is the fine dining brand, which specialises in three types of grill: the tandoor oven which is the most well-known, the less famous sigri, over a coal flame, and tawa, where food is cooked on a hot iron plate.
Unlike many restaurants nowadays the menus are not published on their website because they are likely to change at short notice. You can expect a very decent selection of vegetarian, venison, poultry, lamb and seafood dishes, as well as a small number of curries.

Contradiction in terms? Think again...
One of London’s top Indian restaurants, Amaya has a Michelin star. While the prices of the a la carte reflect this, pop in for the Amaya Platter at lunchtime and you get five tasting portions and a dessert for just £22.50.

We had lunch in Amaya, London and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were very attentive, the food beautifully cooked and perfectly spiced. I strongly recommend trying it!
