Alounak

My favourite restaurant in the area, their kitchen delivers top-notch food every time and with their prices is so reasonable it's great. Bring-Your-Own wine further keeps the cost of a fantastic meal out right down.

I visited Alounak with my Greek boyfriend. It was our first time there and the food was really good and reasonably priced. Both of us were impressed, especially my boyfriend really enjoyed his Kashk-o-bsdenjan and Chello-Kabab.
The decoration was traditional Iranian and also Iranian music was nice to hear. The service was acceptable, though could be better, however it was extraordinary crowded and we had to wait 15 minutes to get the table and had to share with another couple, but it was worth it. I strongly recommend Alounak if you want authentic Iranian food, especially freshly made bread. We planned to go there again soon with my boyfriend's Greek friends.

I have been using Alounak since it began life in a portacabin in the nearby car park many years ago. I have watched it grow and go from success to success. Good luck to them. However I took several important clients there for dinner the other Saturday night and was most disappointed. I had booked the restaurant earlier in the week for 8.00 pm, but when we turned up we were told that we had to be out by 9.30 pm. Had I been told at the time of booking I would have been able to go elsewhere, but to be told when being seated is just not on. This is an unacceptable practice and I will not be going back there. Be warned!
