Percento is a suave Italian restaurant serving an array of colourful, exotic and mouth-watering dishes. There is also a cocktail bar upstairs which is popular with City types. The aluminium staircase with glass steps leads down to the restaurant and the lighting is a special feature which goes through a series of moods whilst highlighting a moulded glass wall.

A good modern Italian with some surprises on the menu...
It’s big. Particularly downstairs – via a spiral staircase. And I really like the way that the lights against a wall change so you get different colour hues (maybe it’s an arty light installation?) which gives the place a much softer feel than if it was just a large space. And it’s fun going into the health club next door to get to the loos.
The main web site indicates that you pay on average £35 a head inclusive of wine. Maybe I have expensive taste and drink a lot, but I have always found it a little higher per head than that.
It’s a good modern Italian with some surprises on the menu – with friendly staff, great food and a good choice of wine. However, I must admit on one occasion that I had their really delicious tempura and ended up with a poorly tummy – still, that’s always a risk when you love seafood as much as I do.

Only use this restaurant if you are entirely mad. I booked a private room for 14 at least 6 weeks in advance. In the week prior to the event we could not get an answer from the restaurant itself, the restaurant manager, the events manager, so we had no choice but to find another venue at great expense and hassle. If these guys are supposed to be ‘experts in corporate events’ they have never put on an event of their own. If you have got 14 people turning up for lunch and you can't speak to a soul to confirm the reservation, you have got no choice but to find somewhere else. Complete time wasters.

I dined in Percento this week as I was in London for weekend and it was to be part of a special night out with friends.
Sadly, I found the food to be mediocre at best. I chose 2 dishes from the specials menu as I was very hungry. One starter and maincourse. I had a pasta based starter with small ribbons of carrot and broccoli. The pasta was very thin, similar to noodles. The dish had a strong taste of butter and was very greasy, not so pleasant. In the middle of the pasta was the green bit off the top of a tomato. A little disconcerting, especially as the pasta starter didn't include tomatoes. I left most of my starter. The music in the restaurant was not exactly relaxing either. Trying too hard to be trendy perhaps?
MY main course was chicken with roast potatoes and gravy. I can't remember what the dish was called, just that it was on the specials menu. The chicken was like the cheap chicken portions that you buy from the supermarket. Thigh perhaps, I'm not sure. It had loads of skin on and was flabby,rubbery and greasy. The roast potatoes looked and tasted like they were cooked a couple of days ago and badly reheated. I had to leave most of my dinner as by then I'd lost my appetite completely.
The best thing I ate in this restaurant was the fresh bread served at the table. I was incredibly disappointed with the food! Especially as it's not particularly cheap to eat and drink there. A bottle of mineral water is £4 and a vokda and coke £5.50 which by the time you add on the service charge on top of the food bill, soon becomes expensive.
Having said all this, the others that dined with me thoroughly enjoyed their pasta dishes and had no complaints. The service was excellent and very pleasant, I couldn't fault things there at all.
I went downstairs to the toilets after the meal and they could have done with just a little attention/freshening up. I wished we'd gone to Wetherspoons to eat.
