Booked a table at Frankies for a friend's birthday based on good reviews elsewhere so was massively disappointed when we got the worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant.
We were a party of eight. Four people arrived first and were seated and given menus, when the remaining four arrived five minutes later nobody bothered to bring menus. They took our orders and then came back five minutes later to say that one of only three starters on the menu was not available because they'd run out of mozzarella (in an ITALIAN restaurant...really?) and that there was no lasagne (which two of our party had ordered). Our starters came and were fine although absolutely nothing special just some antipasti chucked on a plate.
But then we waited 60 minutes for our main courses to arrive. In that time nobody came to check on us, ask if we wanted more wine or explain the delay. It wasn't until one of our party got up and walked across the restaurant to find a member of staff that anyone came over. When our main courses did eventually arrive they only delivered 7 of them so we all sat there for ten minutes with our food getting cold while waiting for the eighth dish. Again no explanation, no apology.
Maybe they were having an off night but it wasn't busy so I'm not sure what the problem was. I would not set foot back in the place. Appalling service, extremely average and over-priced food. There are plenty of other Italian restaurants in the area that do it much better without all the hype.
