I was recommended this place by a friend who had already been and said that their food and service was really good. And the atmospher was fantastic. I wanted to go, so I arranged to meet a friend there yesterday (Wednesday 2nd September 2009) only to have found them shut down :(

I have visited Mimouza restaurant in Sheperds Bush today expecting a lovely food as I experienced it couple of years ago. To my disapointment I was told that the lovely lamb tagine was not available as they had NO lamb!!! I was really taken aback by that, and decided for the skewers. The food was average and not at all as I remembered it. Since I traveled all the way from East London to the West London to share the great experience with my sister who had not eaten up to now Moroccon food I decide that I will not go to Mimouza ever again and rather look for another great place to have that lovely Moroccon food.

I am very familiar with Moroccan cuisine. As a vegetarian, choice is rather limited, as most dishes include meat (lamb or chicken, but the salads are superb.
The selection of veg dishes in the Middle Eastern tradition is great. And so are the various couscous dishes. Also highly recommended are the Moroccan soups: very rich and thick and warm. Ideal for our cold climate.
Shepherds Bush is not exactly upmarket, but this restaurant merits a visit to this scruffy area!

Although I've always found Morocco intriguing, I've never really spent much time learning about its customs or its culture, much less its famous cuisine. So when I headed into MIMOUZA, a Moroccan restaurant on shepherd’s bush green (West London), I entered with some expectation that, the menu would consist of things like babaganoush and that certainly pita and falafel, would be involved. Ha! What kind of fool was I?! Yes, having closely aligned climates has resulted in a lot of the same ingredients being used, but the ways they are used are very different. And the result is one of the most pleasant surprises of my dining year.
Trying to read the names of most of the dishes was beyond me,

We dined at Mimouza Restaurant in September, our third and best Moroccan dining experience in London.
The food was delicious, and the service was attentive, in a real authentic Moroccan style, resembling the very old decor in Moorish Marrakech, more so importantly to our surprise the live music performed by a famous Moroccan band “Gnawa UK” (who we had the pleasure to watch live at-Gnawa and world Festival- in Essaouira).
My wife and I decided to hold our wedding anniversary at Mimouza. Upon contacting them to book our party, we learned from Moustapha (charming waiter) that MIMOUZA Restaurant is to host a series of themed Christmas parties incorporating the same band, How lucky can we get?
