The Spitfire Restaurant

I went to the Spitfire Restaurant after recommendation of a friend. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and served authentic polish food. I had the dumplings stuffed with beef and mushrooms which were delicious! Do not exspect haute cuisine or a stylish environment. This is a restaurant that aims for a homely atmosphere and food your polish grandmother would cook. It is excellent value for money and one of the cheapest places I have eaten out in London.

well, what can i say about here, i entered look for a good night with thee wife, but it was a totaly disapointment ... the wifes friend reccomended it, we now know she is no friend of ours, to start off, not one of the could speak english! so we got what they gave us ... it was cold, not heating, and well, ill never go back there

Excellent home style Polish food, visiting Spitfire is like eating at your Polish grandmother's. The food is authentic, the service friendly and the atmosphere unique. An unbeatable experience.

I ate here last night. The staff were warm at first but the food was a little cold and the portions not overly generous. The taste was okay. The doors were locked at 10:00pm and at 11:15pm we were refused service by a member of staff who had already put on her coat and scarf. Cash or cheque only accepted and we had to unlock the door to let ourselves out. If you are looking for a relaxing time in a warm enviroment do not go here. We certainly will not be returning. The best I can say about this place is that it is cheap.
