Bermondsey has been re-invented as a foodie destination recently. It’s specifically confined to Bermondsey Street though, as stray a little further east down Jamaica Road and you’re a million miles away from posh cafes and delicatessens. The street boasts gastropub the Garrison, Spanish restaurant Pizarro, and tapas and sherry bar Jose, both by Jose Pizarro, one time chef of Brindisa.
Zucca is a modern trattoria with fantastic modern Italian cuisine. Prices are fairly low too, and this winning combo ensures the restaurant is usually packed to the rafters.
