A new and contemporary Iranian restaurant called Khayyam has been recently opened on the Finchley Road.



The restaurant provides excellent and deliciously made Iranian cuisine, with the highly recommended Kebab Barg and many stew options for vegetarians. They have live music on Friday, Saturday and Sundays.

The food and service was good when previous owner was around and called Hafez. Now with a new ownership it has declined drastically. On 2 occasions I went there and both time regretted it.

I ordered a salmon and I got some piece of rubber from the back of the freezer (for which i paid 14 pounds). The food was rubbery (the rice was ok) but the only good thing was the bottled water. The service was bad, which I should have known from the fact that I was the only person in the restaurant at 5pm. She actually asked me to calculate my change. I will never go back there again. When I told her the food was rubbery and not fresh, she looked at me and said sorry.
