All In London Review
Live music and cocktails
It’s just five minutes’ walk from Twickenham train station. It doesn’t look much from the outside – so don’t be put off. Inside there is a large open bar area – with raised booths if you are with a group and a bank of tables and benches which you can share with others if you’re feeling sociable. There’s also lots of space to just stand around or dance.
There’s a small stage and on some nights (I mostly go on Sunday evenings) there are open mike nights where local musicians go and play in different formations. Ok, some aren’t so brilliant but there are plenty who are pretty good. Frankie Connolly and Ben Gittins – two of the West London band The Carnabys – were playing when I was there last and they were impressive.
Future gigs are listed all over the walls or you can check out the web site. It’s all incredibly informal.
There are clearly lots of regulars – both amongst the musicians and the spectators – and it’s all very friendly.
There’s a further large covered area out the back – if you want to get away from the action and noise for a bit. And there’s a massive outside area with lots of tables and chairs if the weather is good.
The cocktails are meant to be good but I mostly drink wine or beer when I’m there. And you see a lot of people tucking into the bar food so you can grab a bite if you’re hungry.
