It took over 90 minutes for two of our party's food to arrive. Once it did due to the wait they asked if they could be refunded and was told that they could but the food would have to be taken away, which they said was not an option. The manager then came out of the back and grabbed the food from underneath them, taken away and appeared later with the money. Shouting that if they wanted their money back they'd weren't allowed the food.
Appalling customer service and management. Which is a shame as the bar staff were perfectly pleasant and accommodating.
With its buzzing atmosphere, The Bear is a restaurant that is frequently busy at lunch times and after work and serves a host of modern European dishes from their buffet menu. Catering for private parties of up to 100 guests is available upon request and seating on the pavement area is provided, weather permitting.
