After reading all the rave reviews about the food in this place, went this weekend (mid December) for a meal. Boy, whatta shock going in. It was practically empty, and the food menu has definitely been changed from it's glory days. It's like they've shot themselves in the foot! The most you can pay for one of the handful of blandish dishes is about £10, and they serve french fries?!
The interior has been changed from alcoves/booths to all open plan tables. The place is okay inside, but nothing overly special. I didn't look much at the wine list, but it didn't seem overly huge compaired to reviews referring to a thick list of wines.
By all means check it out if you're local to decide for yourself, but i wouldn't make a big journey to do so.
The Greyhound could be described as a gastro pub, although the decor and food are better than that. The menu is simple, with just three starters, main courses and deserts, and changes regularly. The food is delicious and the restaurant is receiving rave reviews.
