Surprisingly the Fan Museum is the UK’s only museum dedicated to all aspects of fans and the making of fans. It’s a shocking fact but it is a true one, the website says so itself.
Joking aside, The Fan Museum is an interesting (and alternative) trip for anybody with a love of textiles. And if you can’t appreciate the delicate grace of the simple fan here, then well, there’s no other museum where you can. Located in Greenwich, it is a tranquil world of beautiful paper objects with a picturesque ‘Orangery’ in which you can take afternoon tea.
