GoBoat lets you do just that, with its eco-friendly electric boats for hire by the hour that you can navigate yourself without any former experience. You can choose where to voyage from the Regent's Canal, taking you from Camden Lock to Maida Vale, or chartering the Thames past picturesque Hampton Court Palace.
Up to 8 people (from your own household, or 6 from different homes - at least at the time of writing) can sit round the boat's central table; all you need to do is pack drinks and food.
