Apparently, according to Simpson’s in the Strand, carving is a forgotten art. And when you think about it, it seems a fair assumption. Have you been taught to carve a roast properly? Have you got the knife skills to leave you with the most meat possible on your platter? We haven’t, so we could do with a class that showed us how. And luckily, Simpsons in the Strand - that classic, upmarket carvery –are the ones to help.
The 90-minute course involves practice on a variety of joints and ends with a certificate of competence and a presentation carving knife and fork. The cost is £155, which is really a small price to pay for a certificate, which decrees that you can competently carve meat. Kind of.
