If there’s one thing people don’t seem to be able to decide on then it’s the name of the oldest pub in London. There are always a fair few listed in the debate but since our favourite is the Ye Olde Mitre, we’re going to settle with it.
First of all, we like it because it’s incredibly hard to find. Located down a narrow alleyway off of Hatton Gardens it is a small pub with glorious wood paneling and historic artifacts dotted around here and there. It was built in 1546 and it feels like it. It’s an amazing reminder of how old this city really is. Plus there’s a cherry tree that holds up the front of the pub, which is strange
