London is a city of ‘firsts’ and ‘oldests’ and we’re always on the lookout to sample a new one, which is how come we recently went along and experienced the delights of Hackney Wick’s H. Forman & Son. Not just the oldest salmon curer in London but the oldest in Britain, Formans has been smoking fish since the early 1900s.
The last of the original London smokeries, you can eat a salmon brunch at Formans on Fish Island and soak up some of that East End history as you do it.
