If you don’t know what a ‘konditorei’ is then you’re a lot like us. Fortunately we visited our memory palace and got the answer; a konditorei is a German word for a patisserie or confectionery shop and you can find one of these things at Fisher’s in Marylebone.
An evocative slice of 19th century Vienna, Fischer’s is one of those places that makes you thank London for allowing it to exist. An informal Viennese neighbourhood café, it’s like an even more Austrian version of The Wolseley and you should take your next date there. Or go alone. Or go with friends.
