Fish for Free

Go all Mr Crabtree
This must try is connected to: Regent's Canal

If there is a more peaceful, relaxing sporting pursuit than fishing then we’d like to hear about it. Seriously, email us, Facebook us, Tweet us… whatever, we just don’t believe one exists. Provided you have a valid rod license (yes, that really exists and isn’t some weird, smutty innuendo – they’re available from Post Offices) then you can fish for free at a whole long list of places in London, including the Thames.

However, thanks to the ease of setting up there, your best bet is the Regents Canal where you might just be lucky enough to hook roach, perch, carp and tench. And if you’re really lucky you could even snag a pike. Obviously all fish must be returned to whence they came.
