Where: 10 Hyde Park Place, W2 2LH
We could probably fill a book with the ridiculously-sized properties London estate agents have attempted to pass off through the years, along with a glossary of terms like "deceptively spacious", "cosy", and "bijoux" — all of which translate as minuscule, unless you are a mouse.
No 10 Hyde Park Place is one such tiny abode, although at least no one has been trying to market it as a human-sized house, at least since the 1930s. And just as well, as it measures under 1 metre across, making it only a couple of bricks wider than its front door. Today it is owned by Tyburn Convent, the monastery located next door, which explains why there are no photos available of the interior. However that hasn't stopped theories about its size from emerging, such as that it is home to a dwarf, or that it was was built solely to close up a gap between the two adjacent buildings and prevent people from creeping into the graveyard behind them.
