Get spooked at London’s creepiest gallery

Art with atmosphere

Where: The Crypt Gallery, St. Pancras Church, Euston Road, NW1 2BA

With its Ionic columns and beautiful bell tower, St. Pancras Church is an imposing sight standing over the traffic-infested Euston Road. But its basement is even more arresting: it’s a dark and eerie crypt, used as a burial ground in the 1800s.

In 2002 someone had the genius idea of turning it into a gallery space – exhibiting artists certainly don’t need to worry about creating an atmosphere. Events are eclectic, as the gallery has hosted everything from exhibitions about quantum physics to book launches and immersive theatre.
