Where: The Human Library
Their motto is "unjudge someone", as their human "books" aim to break down common stereotypes. Visitors ask to borrow a "book" who is actually a human, then a member of staff introduces them and lead them to a seating area where they can then ask questions to learn about their circumstances. The library includes people who are Muslim, trans, have autism and HIV, and they volunteer because they want to help remove prejudices they often face. Founded in Denmark in 2000, Human Library events now take place all over the world - in London past events have been hosted in schools, libraries and art galleries.
