Next time you’re in need of some culinary inspiration we suggest that you grab some shopping bags and head off to Mum’s House. No, not your mum’s house, we’re talking about the Burmese supermarket in Turnpike Lane, which just happens to have one of the finest shop names we’ve come across.
Specialising in pretty much every Burmese ingredient you could imagine, Mum’s House is the Asian food store to end them all. Oh, and as well as doing food you can even buy a men’s Burmese ‘suit’ there for the bargain price of £11. Daytrip to Mum’s House, anyone?
