Sit in an otherworldly garden

Possibly London's most theatrical garden...

Where: St. Dunstan in the East,Dunstan's Hill, London EC3R 5DD

London has hidden gardens aplenty, but the dramatic history of St. Dunstan in the East make it one of the more impressive. The medieval church of St. Dunstan stood proudly here until World War II, when bombs shattered the interior leaving just the outer walls. The ruins have now become theatrical climbing walls for shrubbery and other plants, which trail all the way up the Wren Tower. The garden is inside the old church walls, so although it's minutes from Bank station it feels completely secluded from the outside world.
