Meet the scientists. They don't bite.

Where: Francis Crick Institute

The Francis Crick Institute is a relative newcomer to the King's Cross area, arriving in 2017, but it has quickly established itself as a prestigious centre for research. The institute is named after UK scientist Francis Crick in recognition of his contributions to understanding the genetic code.

More than 2,000 staff and students work here, studying biology at all levels, from molecules through to entire organisms. It is a spectacular building to look at from the outside, but also hosts regular events for the public including 'meet the scientist' days for the whole family, talks and film screenings.
