Head to the Southbank Centre from 12 to 27 February at Imagine, where musicians, storytellers, comedians, puppeteers and dancers create our annual children’s festival. Hear from the best children’s authors and then meet them after the shows. Laugh your socks off with stand-up comedian James Campbell or let your hair down with Dan Zanes’ rock concert for tots. There are workshops with artists from around the world, free poetry, storytelling and dancing, and the return of Bookworm Babies.

Highlights include:

•World exclusive preview screenings of The Flying Machine 3D, an animated film inspired by the music of Chopin
•Readings and performances by top children's authors including Charlie Higson and Children's Laureate Anthony Browne
•Strictly family ballroom: A free event teaching the whole family to dance, introduced by Arlene Philips
•Kids' Takeover: On 22 February, Imagine will be run entirely by children – including the cloakroom, selling programmes and showing visitors to their seats!
•Shoebox Living: A free exhibition created by 125 children who were asked to recreate a room from their home in a shoebox
