Four of the best Alternative rock bands in London are playing on the 7th April to raise money for the MENTAL HEALTH FOUNDATION. ALL the proceeds go straight to the charity!

DOGBONES

The Dogbones are a primal, sneering, garage punk animal chewing on a candy cane bone of pop with enough catchy choruses to choke a pig.Buzzsaw guitar, two drummers and a girl with ants in her pants.
This band is LOUD!

Formed by current and former members alike of bands Wendykurk, QueenAdreena, Daisy Chainsaw & Medieval Baebes, The Dogbones play trashy and sleazy post punk with a strong dose of grunge in the mix, often pigeonholed as similar to QueenAdreena this mostly emergingfrom Crispin Gray’s talented guitar play as opposed to vocalist Nomi’s energetic and feverish stage presence, who, despite the comparisons to likes of Katy Jane Garside, easily conjures her own spirit on stage and will no doubt soon have a fervent and loyal fan following.

ARROWS OF LOVE

One of the most exciting rock bands in the UK, fresh from their Skunk Anansie support at Brixton Academy and warming up for their Album launch in May.

Arrows of Love have been lauded as one of the most exciting live bands in London, receiving XFM’s ‘X-posure Hot One’ title and airplay from the likes of Lauren Lauverne, John Kennedy, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Rob da Bank, Tom Robinson, and playing alongside the likes of Anna Calvi, The 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster and British Sea Power.

After being a revolving collective that included members of Courtney Love, Jamie T, Turbogeist, Loverman, and others, Arrows of Love has now completed a core lineup that has taken their live shows to a new level.

The same chemistry, particularly between singers Nima and Lyndsey, has affected their approach to the recording of their debut album, upon which they are working with Richard Warren (Spiritualised), and Bob Weston of Shellac.

FAKE CLUB

Described as ‘Cute, cuddly and rebellious’, and ‘Spice girls with instruments’, this new all girl rock band from London intend to “hijack the industry machine and use it to their advantage while promoting a positive and intuitive message that actually means something". Think the Runaways, Suzi Quatro, early Hole, they have already in 6 months produced a record with Kevin Killen (grammy award winning engineer for U2, Elvis Costello and Kate Bush) mastered by no less than Bob Ludwig, been picked as the Guardians band of the day, and seem to be accumulating a loyal fanbase all over the capital. Huge hooks, girl-power bravado, stompin rock anthems and chicks who want to boycott societys values of bland music and flawless faces on the cover of every magazine.

BETHIA BEADMAN

Smouldering, country-tinged alt.rock: Bethia Beadman combines the intensity of PJ Harvey with the Lynchian glamour of Lana Del Ray and the doomed romanticism of Nick Cave. She has a sound and presence that is breathtaking – you may never stop listening or look away. She’s played Glastonbury and Isle of Wight festivals, sung in the Vatican, supported Pete Doherty and toured in Courtney Love’s band. Described recently by John Kennedy (XFM/Dazed and confused) “a magazine editor’s dream. Ethereal yet visceral, she draws you into her world. One of the best unsung artists around”

Currently making her THIRD album, Bethia will be playing for us with her acoustic guitar.
