Certain Dark Things is the award-nominated story of a Basque boy’s sexual awakening under Franco’s religious dictatorship of the 1950s. Staged in the round with live music, the piece is created and performed by a Basque, Spanish, Catalan and British company.

Originally commissioned by Hightide Festival, the piece sold every single ticket at the Edinburgh Festival 2009 and was nominated for a Total Theatre Award, before embarking on a UK tour in 2010. It comes to London for the very first time.

You Need Me are a storytelling company. They have created three critically acclaimed full length pieces of theatre. How It Ended was the cult hit of the Edinburgh Festival 2008, and had a three week run at the Arcola before a UK tour. Death Song, the most recent piece, was commissioned by Corn Exchange, Newbury and Arts Council England in conjunction with New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth, and toured the UK in Autumn 2011. They are thrilled to be bringing the powerful Certain Dark Things to London for the first time.

Praise for You Need Me:
