Opening for Marcelo Bratke's 'Bach & Bachianas' at Southbank Centre's Purcell Room, TangOpera showcases the exuberant world of Latin American art song, where 'lied' and 'opera' transcend traditional barriers to meet the irresistible, vibrant rhythms of tango, Latin jazz, folk and popular music. Featuring specialist Iberican pianist Helen Glaisher-Hernández and the unique voice of soprano Maya Sapone, TangOpera offers the definitive guide to Latin America’s most captivating classical melodies. With special guest, Brazilian cellist Diego Carneiro de Oliveira.
