The six painters in this exhibition have been selected for their interest in the metaphorical interpretation of urban spaces and their talent for capturing a human touch within our towns and cities. The city, with its transitory population, can be a lonely place – as one person comes another person goes away - but the tracks left behind form shadows and echoes that are both haunting and inspirational.
The pictures in this show communicate a human presence: viewers will find themselves searching for evidence of human activity in derelict areas of the city such as modern hotels, landfill sites, the city's waterways and quiet recreation areas.
