For parents of youngsters keen to get motoring, a driving event to be held at Westfield London is set to get a big thumbs up from both generations.

Young Driver launches their driver safety scheme on Sunday 9 June 2013 and offers those aged 11-17 the chance to drive a car in a safe but realistic environment. Research shows that early driver training can reduce accidents in newly qualified drivers by as much as 45 per cent.

At a Young Driver session, dual controlled cars are used, and tuition is provided by highly qualified, CRB-checked driving instructors. With a mixture of beginners’ zones and a full road system with traffic signs, junctions and parking areas, youngsters are encouraged to consider responsible driving. A personalised Drive Diary can chart how they do and when the young person is ready to take to the roads at 17, their driving instructor will instantly be able to see their previous experience.

Motoring commentator Quentin Willson supports Young Driver, saying: “I took my son to Young Driver and I have never seen him concentrate so hard. Young Driver is a road safety revolution in the making.”
