The Woolff Gallery is excited to present Annemarie Wright’s second solo exhibition ‘#PopPolitics’. The exhibition features an entire new body of intriguing and detailed portrait works from this young artist.

Wright creates incredibly detailed portraits using only hand-written text. These artworks are not only an intricate representation of the person, they also provoke thought and debate through the text that describes, criticises, or comes direct from the mouth of the people that she chooses to portray.

The exhibition, #PopPolitics will feature an eclectic mix of influential figureheads throughout history, pairing politics with pop culture in Wright’s unique handwritten style. New works will include, David Cameron, created entirely of public opinion, Olympic Gold Medal winner, Usain Bolt and a beautiful, yet daring interpretation of the future heir to the British Throne.

Also included in the exhibition is an artwork of the recently departed Iron Lady, Baroness Margaret Thatcher as well as a work featuring Pakistani school girl and educational activist Malala Yousafzai, created entirely from Good Will messages from across the globe. All proceeds from the sale of this artwork will go towards a Girls’ Educational Fund Charity, founded by the Women In The World Foundation.
