The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance is pleased to announce its second annual Degree End of Year Showcase at Proud Galleries on Tuesday 4th June 2012.

This is the second year the event will have been held at the renowned venue in Camden, which is located in the 200-year-old Grade II Listed Horse Hospital in the Stables Market, Camden. Adorned by images of rock royalty throughout, the venue has been systematically designed and painstakingly restored. Proud is known for its commitment to programming the very best live music - Jessie J, Pete Doherty, Dizzee Rascal, Stereophonics, and Johnny Borrell have all played intimate sets there. And recent performers at the venue have included Ed Sheeran, Dirty Pretty Things, Lethal Bizzle, Lykke Li, Vivian Girls, Black Lips, Manchester Orchestra and I Blame Coco.

The Institute will build on the success of last year’s event, by taking over both the whole venue for the night, from 6:30pm to 12:30am, to put on top acts featuring students from the school’s range of degree courses. The Main Gallery will showcase 10 acts comprising of students on the BMus in Music Performance, and BA and Foundation Degree in Creative Musicianship, ending with student DJs.

This event is free and open to the public, which makes it a great opportunity, not only for the students to celebrate their work and success – and for some the culmination of their studies – but for the public to see upcoming talent. The night promises to deliver high quality original music covering a wide range of styles from rock and metal, to indie and pop, to jazz, funk and neo soul.
