Playboy Club London has today announced it will showcase an exclusive collection of artworks by artist Alf Löhr and sculptor Elliott Brotherton from Monday 3rd June until Tuesday July 30th.

A private view of the exhibition will take place at the iconic members club on Old Park Lane on Tuesday 4th June to launch the eight week exhibition curated by Sara Wade of London based art advisory and consultancy Wade Contemporary.

Born in Germany, Alf Löhr studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and completed a PhD at the Royal College of Art, London. Having spent periods teaching, researching and working in the US, Australia, Spain, Japan and India, the artist has spent the last 25 years living and working in London. Sculpture is where Alf Löhr began as a professional artist and his work with its distinctive style and captivating, unpredictable brush stroke is still inherently sculptural.

Brotherton looks at sculpture with a fresh and modern view and his work conveys flowing curves, stepped to accentuate line and shadow. Fascinated by carving and shape form, Brotherton has designed various private commissions. Last year, during the London 2012 Olympics, Brotherton was asked to carve the iconic Olympics rings and logos into the rocks on the mountain bike course which were left in place as a legacy and for everyone to enjoy.

Playboy Club London has been playing host to exhibitions from a number of top artists and photographers over the last 12 months in association with Wade Contemporary to critical acclaim. Members and visitors to the club have the opportunity to view and purchase the works on display over the course of each exhibition.
