Acclaimed flautist Katherine Bryan will be featuring an exciting programme boasting works taken from both of her highly commended discs. Her debut release Liebermann Flute Concerto was described as ‘exquisite’ and, following suit, her eagerly anticipated second album, a disc of American concertos that includes the first British recording of the Rouse Concerto, was released in May 2012 to great acclaim and is currently in the UK Classical Charts.
Katherine made her concerto debut at the age of just 15, having won the prestigious Audi Music Competition, with the Orchestra of the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields London. She went on to win a full scholarship to study flute at the Juilliard School of Music, New York and has since performed as a soloist with a number of esteemed orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Halle, and Nurnberger Symphoniker. She remains principal flute with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, a post that she has held since the age of 21.
