Do you like immersive theatre, but can't afford the £85 tickets to see PUNCHDRUNK?

You're in luck! For just £5 you can see BaLaylah's production of Midnight at the Rue Morgue: The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe, on all this week at the CLF Art Cafe, Rye Lane, Peckham, in association with AXIS arts. We've had rave reviews in Oxford, so come on down!

If you've seen the show before - come again! Our cast rotates, so it's a completely different show every night...

Ba-Laylah Productions welcomes you to The Rueful Morgana, a dilapidated music hall and vaudeville theatre in the heart of nineteenth-century Baltimore, known to its seedy and insalubrious clientele as the “Rue Morgue”. Yet among the contortionists, ventriloquists, musicians, and good-time girls that haunt the tables at this once-great performance hall, there lurks a dark presence: a mysterious masked figure with the power to make them confess their most closely-guarded secrets...

A ventriloquist believes his beloved dummy is talking to him, only to find that its demands grow ever stranger.

The surviving half of a Siamese Twins sideshow act starts to suspect that the long-dead Ligeia is not so departed after all.

The scion of one of Baltimore's noblest families goes to desperate lengths to escape an inherited curse, only to learn that he - and his beloved sister - are doomed to an untimely grave...

And a coldly analytical doctor with an unorthodox bedside manner is forced to diagnose his own disturbing behaviour...

Inspired by the writings of Edgar Allen Poe, including “Ligeia,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart”, Midnight at the Rue Morgue is a journey into the most dangerous place of all: the human heart.
