Set in apartheid South Africa, this is the story of Hally, a young white man and his two black servants.

A play by Athol Fugard
Directed by Luana Laubeski

Set in apartheid South Africa, this is the story of Hally, a young white man and his two black servants Sam and Willy. Fugard’s
play explores how your life is shaped by the views of those around you, and the redemptive power of kite flying.

Initially banned in South Africa, the original Broadway production was nominated for a Tony in 1982 and won Drama Desk, London Critic’s Circle and Evening Standard Awards for Best Play.

“You can’t fly kites on rainy days.”

This production is part of a double bill with Café Nation.
