Through the looking glass is the first solo exhibition of photos, video and prints by Eva Lauterbach, art student of Kunsthochschule Mainz, Germany (Master of education, class of Dieter Kiessling). The exhibition will run 25 July - 3rd August at House Gallery.

Collective knowledge and embossement, influence of education, media and culture are main subjects in the work of Eva Lauterbach. With the mirror reproached, she tries to detect common visual languages as well as her own feelings. Role Play and staging is very important as well: Fairy Tales and popculture, games and films are reinterpretated. Lauterbach shows herself in nearly every picture. The narrow border between self portrait/ self-memories and staging may confront the spectator with his own mostly unpleasant feelings, he begins to recall from the collective commemoration and may ask: Is this popculture?
